The glimpse
In a small town known as Flurksten, there lived a young girl named Jesslianne. She was not the most fortunate when it came to money however her mother kept insisting she get a job to learn responsibility and earn herself some money of her own. Jesslianne took matters into her own hands and began searching for a job in a near by shopping centre but she had no luck, Jesslianne had the idea of babysitting young children around her neighborhood.
The young determined girl began to put up banners offering her service out to kind family’s who were interested.Jesslianne then waited for offers to come rushing in for her to babysitting services. She waited and waited with not one offer and she was beginning to lose hope of earning her own money it seemed more difficult then it looked. One day Jesslianne was watching television in her living room as she hears the phone ring, so she pick’s up the phone and on the line was Mrs Kalahan asking if she was available to babysit that night. Surprised but thrilled to have a chance to prove herself as young working women, she accepted the offer.Eight o’clock came and her mother had just dropped her off at the Kalahan’s house which was surprisingly quite far out into the country but never the less was a beautiful palace compare to her own house. Jesslianne was introduced by Mrs Kalahan to the rest of the family, the father Andrew and the children Cassey was the youngest at the age of seven and Tommy being the eldest at the age of 10 they seemed like nice children.
The Kalahan’s had left a few minutes later for there dinner party, and so the fun and games began for Jesslianne, Cassey and Tommy.After playing and keeping the kids occupied the time came for bed. Jesslianne announced it was time to go and get ready for bed, however the kids were fairly disappointed hence they were having so much fun they did not want it to end. As the three of them were on there way upstairs young Cassey passing by the basement door said she heard something scary coming from the basement and she immediately ran to Jesslianne and screamed it’s the boogie man!Jesslianne reassured Cassey there is no boogie man in the basement, but it did not comfort Cassey at all.Cassey insisted on Jesslianne going downstairs and making sure before they went to bed there was nonone there. On her way downstairs she turns on the light and said« I see no one and hear no one there is no boogie man, so we can all sleep safely tonight there is nothing to worry about Cassey and Tommy».Jesslianne turns around and on her way back upstairs and see’s the door slam in her face and lock, she pleaded the kids to let her out and they simply laughed.
They were both so proud that there little prank actually worked and now they had the whole house to them self’s to have fun and do what ever they wanted. Jesslianne begged, yelled and screamed but nothing worked, they were to busy having a blast on there own to care about her.As time passed Jesslianne was still yelling for one of them to let her out of the basement and unlock the door but nothing was being done. As she sat on the step waiting on the door to be opened Jesslianne was out of luck .Suddenly the basement light burnt out, it was now cold dark and gloomy to be all alone. She was beginning to be frightened.
Sitting right by the door she was able to hear everything going on, knowing at least the children were alright.All of a sudden she hears the front door opening and begins to yell extremely loud to the children. Maybe the Kalahan’s were returning from the party early or maybe her worst nightmare was going to come true and the kids were going to run away and go play in the fields outside by them self’s. She started to panic she had not heard the kids voices in at least two minutes. Suddenly Jesslianne hears a loud scream coming from the front entrance. All of a sudden loud running foot steps all over the house and the a loud thump and another extremely loud scream coming from Cassey.Cassey run’s to the basement door and begins to try and unlock the door for Jesslianne and says « Help there is a killer in the house HELP!!!!»Jesslianne is crying of fear as she is stuck in the basement with no way out. She screams back to Cassey who is no longer responding. Jesslianne is standing by the door and feels a warm wet substance at her feet she looks down and see’s a big wet pool of blood coming from underneath the door.
Jesslianne panics and quickly creeps down the stairs and tries to find a hiding spot. Nervous as she is she knocks over a lamp which makes a loud sudden noise, so quickly she runs under the stairs to hide from who ever is in the house. Next thing she knows the basement door is finally been opened .A large man wearing a black trench coat and a black hat comes down the stairs, and as the light from the upstairs hall is shining on him Jesslianne catches a glimpse of his face and recognizes him from the news as a wanted cereal killer that has been attacking innocent family’s at random yet to be caught.She knows she has to get out of there one way or another before he comes back around a kills her too.
So Jesslianne makes a run for it up the stairs without the killer seeing her. While running to the front door she first see’s Tommy and shake’s him seeing if he is still alive but it is too late for him and so she turns to Cassey who she hears moan on the floor noticing that she is very badly wounded and still breathing. Jesslianne then reaches for her cell phone that she left on the dinning room table a few steps away.Jesslianne knew she had no time to call and wait for the police to come she had to get out and quick. All of a sudden a very frightening voice begins to come from a distance in the basement it is the killer saying« don’t try and run I’m coming for you! No one get’s away from me. » so with all her might she carefully picks up Cassey and makes a run for the nearest exit which turned out to be the back door leading into the forest at the back of the house .So she calls 911 as she is running through the forest and tells them she is being attacked and needs immediate help.
Jesslianne is extremely tired from running and carrying Cassey so she takes a second to catch her breath and wait’s for the police to come and save them.Jesslianne hears a branch crack and turns her head, suddenly she catches another quick glimpse of the killer so she begins to run as fast as she can but it does not seem to be fast enough because he is gaining on them very quickly. Jesslianne trips over a tree branch and the killer then put’s a dagger through Jesslianne’s back and kills her, as she was getting up from the floor and finishes what he started by killing young Cassey as well.
To this day it is unknown if the police ever put this mad man of a killer in prison. It’s possible he is still roaming the streets looking for his next victims.
